Getting the Look

May 9, 2018 By Holly Thompson Leave a Comment

It has been such a busy year since, and I was so burned out on decorating that I thought I would never care about decorating our own house again. Then, we found ourselves opening a shop that was originally just kitchen hardscapes (cabinets, countertops and tile), and turned into all that ... View Post

Christmastime is Here

December 18, 2017 By Holly Thompson 3 Comments

Merry Christmas! I meant to do a post earlier with some Thanksgiving pictures, but now it's a little late!  Did anyone make the eggnog coffee cake?  I did, and then made it again! We had decorated for Christmas early so our magazine photographer could get some shots, and were pretty excited to forego the fall decorating since we did so much of that for the Fall magazine photo shoot.  But on ... How to Use Barn Doors. Well.

July 6, 2017 By Holly Thompson 5 Comments

How to Do Farmhouse Without Becoming Trendy

June 26, 2017 By Holly Thompson 5 Comments

The word "trendy" sounds exciting sometimes, like when you buy a house that's so outdated that some of it has come back into style.  It's also great when you have a limited decor budget and happen to find something at Goodwill that's actually "on-trend."  Or when your grandma gives you her old dishes and you see similar ones in a magazine.  In these cases, trendy is awesome.  It gets you back in ... Master Bedroom Progress

February 9, 2017 By Holly Thompson 2 Comments

Hey guys! It has been awhile since I mentioned the master bedroom...remember the vintage door wall?  You can see how we did it here.  The door wall got finished, but the room never did, because we used it for storage for our master bath reno.  (Here is the beginning of that, if you are interested.)  Both of these projects got put on hold in order to finish the main floor, which is just a few ... I can't even tell you how difficult it is to plan a two-story addition on a 1.5-story house that won't show from the front. I think it's turning out better than I imagined!
