Getting the Look

May 9, 2018 By Holly Thompson Leave a Comment

It's hard to believe it has been one full year since our photo shoot for American Farmhouse Style magazine! It has been such a busy year since, and I was so burned out on decorating that I thought I would never care about decorating our own house again. Then, we found ourselves opening a shop that was originally just kitchen hardscapes (cabinets, countertops and tile), and turned into all that ... View Post

The Countdown

March 28, 2018 By Holly Thompson Leave a Comment

Hi there! It seems I have been missing from my blog-writing duties lately.  I am so, so tired right now but we are almost to the fun part where I get to design and style our showroom!  I can't wait to post pictures of it (and our other projects), and hopefully meet you at our shop! Things have evolved in the past few months so much that it's hard to keep up!  I would love to give you an ... View Post

Magazine Photo Shoot, Part 1

May 23, 2017 By Holly Thompson 2 Comments

We are still settling back into normal life after our photo shoot with American Farmhouse Style magazine!  It sounds glamorous, but preparing to be in a magazine involves a lot of late nights spent dumping things you actually use into the garage. It also involves ungodly amounts of cleaning and tidying, plus asking kids not to use the couch/nice towels/table/bowl of fruit.  For all these reasons, ... View Post

A Fresh Start

January 10, 2017 By Holly Thompson Leave a Comment

I always love starting fresh every January.  It's especially fun because my husband gets the kids to help him put away the Christmas stuff, while I get to stare at the clean surfaces and imagine all the decorating possibilities.  I'm still pondering those, but when I figure it out, I'll have some more January pictures for you!  For now, here's one of my favorite Christmas pictures.  These three ... I can't even tell you how difficult it is to plan a two-story addition on a 1.5-story house that won't show from the front. I think it's turning out better than I imagined!
