It's almost officially fall and I am so excited, despite that it's still 90 degrees here. I have learned that the temperature really makes no difference. You are officially allowed to decorate for fall when the calendar says September. If you're really anxious, you can decorate for September in August. Either way, if you live in the South, you should not feel bad about decorating for fall even ... View Post
Summer Visitors and a Decorating Tip
Hi there! I hope you are all having a nice summer! We are having a stay-cation this year at our neighborhood pool, since we can't be away from a few of our projects at the moment. We're thinking about heading to the mountains in East Tennessee for a short trip in the fall though. If you have suggestions on where to stay or what to see in the Great Smokies, let me know! Getting the Look
It's hard to believe it has been one full year since our photo shoot for American Farmhouse Style magazine! It has been such a busy year since, and I was so burned out on decorating that I thought I would never care about decorating our own house again. Plus some new customers and clients. It all turned out much better than expected (let's just say I ... View Post

Today I saw buds on one of our trees and heard birdies chirping (before the rain sent them packing). It won't be long before we find out if the dogwood we planted last year survived the winter. Our beloved pink flowering tree died ... View Post
October at Our House
Hey there! Fall is in full swing in the Thompson household. Usually it starts with some simple fall decorations like real pumpkins but faux branches from Pottery Barn, since we found out we're allergic to real ones. Then October arrives and brings colorful birthday banners for the boys, whose birthdays are a week apart. Then the kids decide to make their birthdays extra festive by blowing up ... View Post
