My Newest Project

June 11, 2019 By Holly Thompson 2 Comments

Update: click on my first article here! One of my favorite things I have gotten to do probably EVER was work with American Farmhouse Style magazine. They featured our home in their Fall 2017 issue and it was an absolute ton of work to get it ready. Even so, I loved every bit of the process, from the lengthy but exciting approval process to the photo shoot a few months later. American ... View Post

Getting the Look

May 9, 2018 By Holly Thompson Leave a Comment

It's hard to believe it has been one full year since our photo shoot for American Farmhouse Style magazine! It has been such a busy year since, and I was so burned out on decorating that I thought I would never care about decorating our own house again. Then, we found ourselves opening a shop that was originally just kitchen hardscapes (cabinets, countertops and tile), and turned into all that ... View Post

The Countdown

Hi there! It seems I have been missing from my blog-writing duties lately.  I am so, so tired right now but we are almost to the fun part where I get to design and style our showroom!  I can't wait to post pictures of it (and our other projects), and hopefully meet you at our shop! Things have evolved in the past few months so much that it's hard to keep up!  I would love to give you an ... View Post

Hi there! I hope you guys are enjoying fall, wherever you live.  Fall is my favorite season.  I love to decorate for fall, especially after a long, hot summer in the South.  This year we're skipping the fall decorations and just enjoying the change in the weather.  Normally I go all out, but this year I just put that stuff away in May because of our fall photo shoot. Our magazine feature has ... View Post

Oh Happy Day

August 22, 2017 By Holly Thompson 9 Comments

Hi guys!  I'll bet most of you already know this, but today is the official day that our issue of American Farmhouse Style magazine hit newsstands!  (By "our issue", I mean the issue that features our home and our kitty.) Apparently it hit a few places early, because I saw it at the grocery store a couple days ago and got mine in the mail last week.  But. Now it's officially here across the ... View Post

I can't even tell you how difficult it is to plan a two-story addition on a 1.5-story house that won't show from the front. I think it's turning out better than I imagined!

I decided to take a break from the worky-works to enjoy the festivities, meet a SCAD friend for coffee, and shop local at the fun shops all around.
