When It Rains, It Pours

August 7, 2018 By Holly Thompson Leave a Comment

I haven't had much time to blog lately, and I want to show you some kitchens we're working on.  But today, I am taking a day off from that stuff and introduce our family instead!  You probably don't recognize the pipsqueaks in the picture above, but those are my older two!  Since a lot of you are new blog followers, I thought I'd tell you a little about us. The bigger kid above (Judah) is the ... View Post

Getting the Look

May 9, 2018 By Holly Thompson Leave a Comment

It's hard to believe it has been one full year since our photo shoot for American Farmhouse Style magazine! It has been such a busy year since, and I was so burned out on decorating that I thought I would never care about decorating our own house again. Then, we found ourselves opening a shop that was originally just kitchen hardscapes (cabinets, countertops and tile), and turned into all that ... View Post

Happy February!

February 8, 2018 By Holly Thompson Leave a Comment

Hi everyone! I can't believe it's February already-- has anyone decorated for Valentine's Day this year?  In the past, we've always had lots of little homemade heart banners and garlands out but this year I've totally forgotten!  I figured it was too late to bother for this year, but then Bennett (age 9) asked if she could be in charge of decorating.  Here's the faux fireplace in our dining ... Oh Happy Day

August 22, 2017 By Holly Thompson 9 Comments

Hi guys!  I'll bet most of you already know this, but today is the official day that our issue of American Farmhouse Style magazine hit newsstands!  (By "our issue", I mean the issue that features our home and our kitty.) Apparently it hit a few places early, because I saw it at the grocery store a couple days ago and got mine in the mail last week.  But. Now it's officially here across the ... View Post

‘Tis the Season!

December 5, 2016 By Holly Thompson Leave a Comment

Hi everyone!  I hope you are enjoying this Christmas season so far!  This year it seemed like gingerbread lattes showed up before I was even anxiously awaiting them (that's a first). I got a little stressed about all the things I have to do, since I want to make sure I don't get so busy I forget to tie the festivities into what Christmas is actually about. My goal:  Take the "mess" out of ... View Post

I can't even tell you how difficult it is to plan a two-story addition on a 1.5-story house that won't show from the front. I think it's turning out better than I imagined!

I decided to take a break from the worky-works to enjoy the festivities, meet a SCAD friend for coffee, and shop local at the fun shops all around.
