Summer Visitors and a Decorating Tip

July 13, 2018 By Holly Thompson 2 Comments

Hi there! I hope you are all having a nice summer!  We are having a stay-cation this year at our neighborhood pool, since we can't be away from a few of our projects at the moment.  We're thinking about heading to the mountains in East Tennessee for a short trip in the fall though.  If you have suggestions on where to stay or what to see in the Great Smokies, let me know!  We are thinking more ... Getting the Look

May 9, 2018 By Holly Thompson Leave a Comment

It's hard to believe it has been one full year since our photo shoot for American Farmhouse Style magazine! It has been such a busy year since, and I was so burned out on decorating that I thought I would never care about decorating our own house again. Then, we found ourselves opening a shop that was originally just kitchen hardscapes (cabinets, countertops and tile), and turned into all that ... View Post

Farm tables and more, plus a small request

April 27, 2018 By Holly Thompson 6 Comments

Hi there! We just survived our first full week of being open!  Thanks to all of you who came in to visit us!  We started the week scrambling to get everything priced and displayed, and ended the week with our first Google review (and a GIANT load of new items waiting to be priced and displayed)! Plus some new customers and clients.  It all turned out much better than expected (let's just say I ... View Post

The Countdown

March 28, 2018 By Holly Thompson Leave a Comment

Hi there! It seems I have been missing from my blog-writing duties lately.  I am so, so tired right now but we are almost to the fun part where I get to design and style our showroom!  I can't wait to post pictures of it (and our other projects), and hopefully meet you at our shop! Things have evolved in the past few months so much that it's hard to keep up!  I would love to give you an ... View Post

What’s Hot for Spring

February 21, 2018 By Holly Thompson 1 Comment

It feels like spring here in the South, thanks to temperatures in the 70's!  Winters are short here in Tennessee, but the arrival of spring is still much appreciated.  Today I saw buds on one of our trees and heard birdies chirping (before the rain sent them packing).  It won't be long before we find out if the dogwood we planted last year survived the winter.  Our beloved pink flowering tree died ... Y’all Are My Favorite(s).

January 12, 2018 By Holly Thompson 4 Comments

Welcome to 2018, everyone!  I hope you are staying warm.  We seem to be having a mini ice storm in the Nashville area and it's supposed to snow, which means we'll have some kid-free time AND will have an excuse to sit in front of the fire (possibly with Air Disasters on from the Smithsonian Channel) with hot drinks and not feel bad about not going for walks. I actually do like going for walks, ... View Post

The lines of this are so stunning, I had to try it The lines of this are so stunning, I had to try it in black and white. This is the upstairs of our house! I can't even tell you how difficult it is to plan a two-story addition on a 1.5-story house that won't show from the front. I think it's turning out better than I imagined!

I decided to take a break from the worky-works to enjoy the festivities, meet a SCAD friend for coffee, and shop local at the fun shops all around. Check out the umbrella from the pop-up shop on the sidewalk. I need one of these! @jondie @whitesmercantile
