Hi guys!
I wasn’t planning to post again until our new website is up and running, but I thought you might like a peek into what we’re up to. (Our new website is coming and this one will be down for a few days during the switch).
It seems like we don’t have a lot of free time, but that’s not true. We tend to have the hours between 8pm and 3am free, which is a good thing, because we’ve been busy trying to get the master bath done for our big deadline coming up.
And if you are wondering why it’s taking up so much of our free time, just take a look at this.
Our master bathroom when we bought the house (with a sheet vinyl floor pretending to be travertine)
which became this…
but then, there was an amazing opportunity get marble and onyx stone tile for the floor, which meant we needed this:
A heated floor and a husband to install it for free.
Then came time to start laying out the zillions of strips of 2-inch-wide marble and onyx:
and then installing it:
This guy spent 27 hours installing this, not including grout, because the tiles were not all the same thickness and there was hundreds (thousands?) of them.
At this point, I had to text some people and ask for prayer, because while he may look happy in this picture, he was actually only smiling because I thought he looked silly and was trying to take a picture. He was actually giving up on finishing the rest of the bathroom and complaining about the smell of the mushrooms I was cooking.
The prayers worked, as did the Redbull, because soon after this, he was installing the wall paneling:
Meanwhile, I was taking care of the kids and choosing the remaining finishes and colors:
and chose pink for the tub, a sample of which is here, with one of the tub feet:
And that’s how we spend our free time at the moment.
Nice!
One question – Does Dave only have green shirts? 🙂
Yes, only green shirts. 🙂
Sometimes free time ain’t very free, is it? Unless, of course, you mean working for free. 🙂
But it’s going to be beautiful!
No kidding!! 🙂 At least we like what we’re doing or this would be pretty rough!
Great post!
Thanks, Pam!! 🙂
