We’ve all heard how cabinet hardware and other smaller details act to a kitchen like jewelry does to an outfit. It can make it look cheap, outdated, or off, ruining the look of the entire outfit. Or, it can take an ordinary outfit and make it a stunner. It can also take the same outfit (or kitchen) and make it look like whatever style you’re going for, simply by choosing the right hardware.
For some ideas on how to take one basic kitchen idea and give it three completely different looks, read my American Farmhouse Style article here. You can use your cabinet hardware to make or break your kitchen design, as well as give it the distinct style you were going for.
Some quick advice about choosing hardware for your own kitchen: always test out the pull or knob on the sample board to make sure it feels right in your hand. A lot of inexpensive options cut corners on the back of the pull so it looks fine but doesn’t feel good to use. The higher-quality pulls will have a nice weight to them and have a smooth feel. You don’t want to cringe every time you use your new hardware.
Enjoy!
